About This Test
The BioFire Respiratory Panel (RP) is a rapid, multiplex PCR test that simultaneously detects the most common viral and bacterial pathogens that cause upper and lower respiratory tract infections. It is performed on nasopharyhngeal swab. Results are available in 2 hours. This test involves 18viruses and 4 bacteria which helps in right diagnosis of patient.

Frequently Asked Questions
Molecular testing is a type of laboratory test that analyzes molecules in the body—usually DNA, RNA, or proteins—to detect diseases, infections, genetic conditions, or other biological changes using advanced technique like PCR.
No special preparation.
Sample before 5pm, reports in 2-3 hours. After 5pm report next day morning 11am.
Respiratory Panel (Biofire FilmArray) is important because it allows rapid, comprehensive detection of multiple respiratory pathogens, helping doctors diagnose accurately, start appropriate treatment quickly, and prevent complications and spread of infections.
TAT Policy
The Turnaround Time (TAT) depends on the following factors:
- Registration date and time
- Type of scan or test
- Scan time or sample collection time
In uncommon circumstances, TAT may be delayed due to test complexity or reasons beyond our control. You will be informed of the estimated TAT at the time of registration.
