Gastro intestinal Panel (Biofire Film array) -Delhi

MOLECULAR BIOLOGY

Gastro intestinal Panel (Biofire Film array)

Also Known As: GI Panel Biofire

About This Test

The BioFire FilmArray Gastrointestinal (GI) Panel is a highly advanced molecular test that detects multiple pathogens (bacteria, viruses, and parasites) that cause gastrointestinal infections, especially diarrhea. It uses multiplex PCR technology, meaning it tests for many organisms simultaneously from a single stool sample. This is a rapid diagnosis and gives result in 2 hours. It helps to guide targeted treatment.

Frequently Asked Questions

Molecular testing is a type of laboratory test that analyzes molecules in the body—usually DNA, RNA, or proteins—to detect diseases, infections, genetic conditions, or other biological changes using advanced technique like PCR.

No special preparation.

Sample before 5pm, reports in 2-3 hours. After 5pm report next day morning 11am.

Gastrointestinal Panel (Biofire FilmArray) is important because it provides rapid and comprehensive detection of multiple pathogens that cause gastrointestinal infections, helping guide accurate treatment and infection control.

TAT Policy

The Turnaround Time (TAT) depends on the following factors:

  • Registration date and time
  • Type of scan or test
  • Scan time or sample collection time

In uncommon circumstances, TAT may be delayed due to test complexity or reasons beyond our control. You will be informed of the estimated TAT at the time of registration.
