The Peripheral Smear for Malaria Parasite test is a microscopic examination of a patient’s blood sample to detect malaria parasites. Malaria is a disease caused by a parasite which spreads to humans through the bite of infected mosquitoes. People who have malaria usually feel very sick with high fever and shaking chills. Some individuals develop complications and suffer from serious disease. Malaria is of 4 types and all types can be identified by this test.
