About This Test
The Urine Deposit for ZN Stain (24hours) is a microscopic test done on the centrifuged 24 hours collected urine sediment, stained by the Ziehl–Neelsen (ZN) staining method. It is used to detect acid-fast bacilli (AFB), mainly Mycobacterium tuberculosis, in urine. This test helps diagnose Genitourinary Tuberculosis (GUTB). This test suspect tuberculosis infection involving the kidneys, ureters, bladder, or genital tract.
