About This Test
This test determines a person’s ABO blood group and Rh (D) type using Gel Card Technology, which is a modern, highly accurate method. It includes both: Forward Grouping (Cell Grouping) – detects antigens on red blood cells ; Reverse Grouping (Serum Grouping) – detects antibodies in plasma/serum. Gel technology uses microtubes filled with gel to detect antigen–antibody reactions. This test is essential for blood transfusion compatibility, before surgery, pregnancy & antenatal screening.
