About This Test
The Differential Leucocyte Count (DLC) measures the percentage of different types of white blood cells (WBCs) in the blood.
It helps identify infections, inflammation, allergic reactions, and blood disorders. Commonly there are 5 different type of WBC ie Neutrophils, Lymphocytes, Eosinophils, Monocytes & Basophils. These cells together form the Differential leucocyte count (DLC). DLC helps in determining the body’s immune response; identifying abnormal or immature cells; early detection of serious diseases (sepsis, leukemias); providing crucial information even when total WBC count is normal.
