Enterography (Scan Charges Only)

Also Known As: ct enterography of abdomen enteroclysis colonography

About This Test

The Enterography / Colonography CT scan (Scan Charges Only) is a non-invasive imaging procedure designed to provide high-resolution visualization of the small intestine (enterography) or the colon (colonography) without the use of contrast under the scan-only billing. The scan captures detailed cross-sectional and 3D images of the bowel, mesentery, and surrounding abdominal structures, allowing detection of structural abnormalities, strictures, masses, polyps, or other lesions. It is particularly useful for patients with unexplained abdominal pain, bowel obstruction, gastrointestinal bleeding, or for screening purposes when conventional endoscopy is not feasible. While contrast is not included, the scan provides sufficient anatomical detail to evaluate bowel wall thickness, luminal patency, and adjacent organ structures. The procedure is fast, safe, and non-invasive, minimizing patient discomfort. High-resolution images support accurate diagnosis, treatment planning, and follow-up assessment, assisting clinicians in managing gastrointestinal conditions effectively.

Frequently Asked Questions

Ans-CT scan uses X rays to create detailed images of the inside of the body.

Some scans need contrast dye for clearer images. Your doctor will advise based on your
condition.

Ans- Most scans take 5–10 minutes.

Ans-Yes. CT scan is a safe imaging test. However, it exposes you to a small dose of radiation. For most people, such a small potential risk far outweighs the benefits, in terms of saving your life. The radiation dose is controlled and kept within safe limits.
