About This Test
This procedure uses CT imaging to guide needle aspiration of fluid or tissue from specific organs or lesions. Under scan guidance, a fine needle is accurately positioned to collect samples for diagnostic evaluation. It is indicated for cysts, abscesses, or suspicious masses in organs such as the lungs, liver, kidneys, or soft tissue. The procedure is minimally invasive, performed under local anesthesia, and avoids unnecessary surgery. It provides high accuracy, ensuring safe sample collection for cytology, microbiology, or biochemical analysis. It aids early diagnosis, treatment planning, and follow-up monitoring. The procedure is fast, safe, and allows targeted evaluation of pathological areas with minimal discomfort.

Frequently Asked Questions
Ans-It is possible to remove cells from the target region using a pinhole non-invasive diagnostic process called CECT-guided Fine Needle Aspiration Cytology (CECT-guided FNAC) and examine them under a microscope for confirmation and diagnosis. A thin needle or syringe is used to remove cells from target areas (such as the breast, skin, or any soft tissue) through the skin while being guided by a CECT scan to reduce the chance of error.
Ans -No. It is completely painless. You just need to lie still..
Some scans need contrast dye for clearer images. Your doctor will advise based on your
condition.
condition.
Ans- Most scans take 5–10 minutes.
Ans-Yes. CT scan is a safe imaging test. However, it exposes you to a small dose of radiation. For most people, such a small potential risk far outweighs the benefits, in terms of saving your life. The radiation dose is controlled and kept within safe limits.
TAT Policy
The Turnaround Time (TAT) depends on the following factors:
- Registration date and time
- Type of scan or test
- Scan time or sample collection time
In uncommon circumstances, TAT may be delayed due to test complexity or reasons beyond our control. You will be informed of the estimated TAT at the time of registration.
