About This Test
This contrast-enhanced CT scan evaluates the lower abdomen and pelvic organs with high-resolution imaging. Intravenous contrast helps visualize blood vessels, soft tissues, and inflammatory or pathological changes. The scan assesses structures such as the urinary bladder, ureters, prostate, uterus, ovaries, bowel loops, pelvic bones, lymph nodes, and surrounding soft tissues. It is commonly performed for abdominal pain, suspected masses, infections, trauma, kidney stones, urinary tract obstruction, appendicitis, bowel inflammation, and oncological staging. Contrast helps differentiate normal and abnormal tissues, detect tumors, identify vascular abnormalities, and evaluate post-surgical complications. This test provides cross-sectional views that assist in accurate diagnosis and treatment planning. It is especially helpful for cancer follow-up, pelvic inflammatory disease assessment, and pre-operative planning. The scan delivers fast and reliable results, making it an essential tool in emergency and routine clinical settings
