About This Test
This CT angiography focuses on the arterial system of the abdomen using contrast dye to enhance visibility of blood vessels. It provides a detailed evaluation of arteries supplying the liver, kidneys, intestines, pancreas, spleen, and pelvic region. The contrast medium allows detection of blockages, aneurysms, narrowing, abnormal vessel growth, or inflammation. This test is commonly advised for patients with abdominal pain, suspected vascular disease, hypertension due to renal artery stenosis, gastrointestinal bleeding, or pre-operative planning. Surgeons and clinicians rely on this scan to assess blood supply before liver transplant evaluation or tumor surgery. It also helps monitor previously placed stents or vascular grafts. The procedure is fast, accurate, and non-invasive, offering comprehensive vessel mapping needed for diagnosis and treatment planning.

Ans- Most scans take 5–10 minutes.
Ans-Yes. CT scan is a safe imaging test. However, it exposes you to a small dose of radiation. For most people, such a small potential risk far outweighs the benefits, in terms of saving your life. The radiation dose is controlled and kept within safe limits.
