About This Test
Abdomen Whole with Hernia Protocol (Scan Charges Only) provides specialized CT imaging focused on identifying and evaluating abdominal wall, inguinal, umbilical, incisional, and internal hernias without including consumables, offering high-resolution image acquisition that shows hernia sacs, bowel loops, fat protrusion, fascial defects, strangulation, obstruction, vascular compromise, inflammation, and post-surgical complications; the protocol captures detailed cross-sectional views of the entire abdomen, enabling assessment of bowel viability, perfusion patterns, fluid collections, abscess formation, adhesions, and hernia recurrence; it also includes full organ evaluation of liver, pancreas, spleen, kidneys, adrenals, lymph nodes, pelvis, and abdominal vasculature, supporting comprehensive diagnosis; this scan is crucial for emergency cases, surgical planning, pre-operative mapping, and long-term monitoring of complex or recurrent hernias, helping clinicians make accurate treatment decisions with clear anatomical visualization and reliable diagnostic detail.

Ans Doctors recommend this radiological scan to look for any underlying problems in the whole abdomen:
Abdominal pain
Suspected tumours
Cancers
hernia
Gall bladder stone
Kidney stone
Inflammation and infection
Obstructions in intestines.
Tears in blood vessels etc.
The procedure of CECT whole abdomen needs 4-6 hours of fasting. Patients may be given an oral contrast before the scan. After oral contrast is given patient needs to wait for 60-90 minutes and then the patient needs to lie supine on a table and arm is placed on the sides and contrast is injected into the arm through an IV line then the scan is performed.
Ans- Ct abdomen take 2-3 hours.
Ans-Yes. CT scan is a safe imaging test. However, it exposes you to a small dose of radiation. For most people, such a small potential risk far outweighs the benefits, in terms of saving your
TAT Policy
The Turnaround Time (TAT) depends on the following factors:
- Registration date and time
- Type of scan or test
- Scan time or sample collection time
In uncommon circumstances, TAT may be delayed due to test complexity or reasons beyond our control. You will be informed of the estimated TAT at the time of registration.
