Upper/ Lower Limb (With Contrast) -Delhi

CT

Upper/ Lower Limb (With Contrast)

Also Known As: ct for limbs

About This Test

The Upper or Lower Limb CT with Contrast is a specialized imaging study designed to evaluate the bones, joints, muscles, blood vessels, and soft tissues of the arms or legs in detail. The use of intravenous contrast enhances the visibility of arteries, veins, and soft tissue structures, allowing clinicians to identify blockages, vascular malformations, tumors, infections, or inflammatory conditions. This scan is commonly used in cases of trauma, limb pain, swelling, suspected deep vein thrombosis, peripheral arterial disease, or pre-surgical planning. High-resolution imaging provides precise anatomical details, helping in the assessment of fractures, joint injuries, and vascular abnormalities. Contrast-enhanced CT enables clear differentiation between vessels and surrounding tissues, improving diagnostic accuracy. The study is fast, non-invasive, and helps guide appropriate medical, surgical, or interventional treatment. By combining bone, soft tissue, and vascular evaluation in one examination, it offers a comprehensive assessment of limb pathology.

condition.

Ans- Most scans take 5–10 minutes.

Ans-Yes. CT scan is a safe imaging test. However, it exposes you to a small dose of radiation. For most people, such a small potential risk far outweighs the benefits, in terms of saving your life. The radiation dose is controlled and kept within safe limits.
