About This Test
Pulmonary Angiography with contrast is a specialized imaging study designed to evaluate the pulmonary arteries and the vascular structures of the lungs. This procedure uses intravenous contrast material to enhance visualization of blood flow, allowing accurate assessment of the pulmonary vasculature. It is commonly performed to detect pulmonary embolism, vascular malformations, aneurysms, or other abnormalities in patients with symptoms such as sudden shortness of breath, chest pain, or unexplained hypoxia. The contrast-enhanced images provide high-resolution, detailed views of both main and peripheral pulmonary arteries, enabling clinicians to identify blockages, narrowing, or abnormal connections. Pulmonary Angiography with contrast is also valuable for pre-surgical planning, monitoring treatment response, or guiding interventional procedures such as thrombectomy. By offering precise anatomical and functional information, this study supports timely diagnosis and management, improving outcomes for patients with pulmonary vascular disorders. It is a fast, non-invasive, and highly informative diagnostic tool in critical care and emergency settings.

condition.
Ans- Most scans take 5–10 minutes.
Ans-Yes. CT scan is a safe imaging test. However, it exposes you to a small dose of radiation. For most people, such a small potential risk far outweighs the benefits, in terms of saving your life. The radiation dose is controlled and kept within safe limits.
TAT Policy
The Turnaround Time (TAT) depends on the following factors:
- Registration date and time
- Type of scan or test
- Scan time or sample collection time
In uncommon circumstances, TAT may be delayed due to test complexity or reasons beyond our control. You will be informed of the estimated TAT at the time of registration.
