PNS Axial , Coronal & Saggital (Scan charges only)

Also Known As: ct PNS (paranasal sinuses) (Scan charges only)

About This Test

The PNS Axial, Coronal, and Sagittal scan is a detailed, multi-planar imaging study designed to thoroughly evaluate the paranasal sinuses and their anatomical relationships. This scan provides high-resolution images in three planes—axial (horizontal), coronal (vertical), and sagittal (side-to-side)—giving a complete overview of sinus structure, ventilation patterns, bony margins, and soft tissues. ENT specialists frequently prefer this multi-planar approach for pre-surgical mapping, chronic sinusitis evaluation, and assessing conditions such as polyps, mucosal thickening, fungal sinus disease, or anatomical variations like concha bullosa. As a “scan charges only” test, it does not include contrast administration, focusing solely on precise non-contrast imaging. The multi-planar views significantly improve diagnostic accuracy by visualizing hidden areas and complex regions that may not be clearly seen in a single plane. This comprehensive imaging technique helps guide clinical decisions, improves treatment planning, and enhances surgical safety.

Frequently Asked Questions

Ans-CT scan uses X rays to create detailed images of the inside of the body.

Ans -No. It is completely painless. You just need to lie still..

Some scans need contrast dye for clearer images. Your doctor will advise based on your
condition.

Ans- Most scans take 5–10 minutes.

Ans-Yes. CT scan is a safe imaging test. However, it exposes you to a small dose of radiation. For most people, such a small potential risk far outweighs the benefits, in terms of saving your life. The radiation dose is controlled and kept within safe limits.
