About This Test
The Neck (Scan Charges Only) study is a non-contrast imaging procedure designed to evaluate the anatomical structures of the neck with high-resolution detail. This scan provides clear visualization of the airway, cervical spine, lymph nodes, salivary glands, thyroid gland, larynx, pharynx, and surrounding soft tissues. Without the use of contrast material, the study focuses primarily on identifying structural abnormalities, bony changes, masses, swelling, trauma, and degenerative conditions. It is commonly recommended for patients experiencing neck pain, difficulty swallowing, persistent swelling, palpable lumps, or suspected infections. The scan is also helpful in assessing thyroid enlargement, salivary gland stones, and cervical spine issues. Because it is performed without contrast, the procedure is safe and suitable for patients with allergies, kidney issues, or those requiring quick screening. High-quality cross-sectional images help clinicians detect abnormalities early and plan further tests or treatment if needed. This study offers a reliable and efficient initial evaluation of neck-related concerns.

Ans-Yes. CT scan is a safe imaging test. However, it exposes you to a small dose of radiation. For most people, such a small potential risk far outweighs the benefits, in terms of saving your life. The radiation dose is controlled and kept within safe limits.
