About This Test
Abdomen Upper with Lower Chest CT (Scan Charges Only) provides combined imaging of the upper abdominal organs—liver, gallbladder, pancreas, spleen, stomach, kidneys—and the lower thoracic structures including lungs, pleura, diaphragm, and lower mediastinum, allowing clinicians to evaluate abdominal–thoracic continuity in cases of trauma, infection, tumor spread, inflammatory conditions, and acute pain; this scan-charges-only version includes image acquisition without contrast consumables, providing high-resolution cross-sectional views to detect masses, fluid collections, pneumonia, pleural effusion, diaphragmatic hernia, liver lesions, renal pathology, and post-surgical complications; it is extremely useful in emergency assessment, cancer staging, and combined thoracoabdominal disease evaluation by offering quick, accurate visualization of two major anatomical regions in one scan, enabling faster diagnosis and more efficient clinical management.

condition.
Ans- Most scans take 5–10 minutes.
Ans-Yes. CT scan is a safe imaging test. However, it exposes you to a small dose of radiation. For most people, such a small potential risk far outweighs the benefits, in terms of saving your life. The radiation dose is controlled and kept within safe limits.
