About This Test
The Musculoskeletal (Scan Charges Only) study is a specialized non-contrast imaging procedure designed to evaluate the bones, joints, and soft tissues of the body. This scan provides detailed cross-sectional images that help identify fractures, dislocations, ligament injuries, tendon abnormalities, joint effusions, bone lesions, arthritis, and degenerative changes. Since it is performed without contrast, the focus remains on the structural assessment of bones and surrounding tissues, making it ideal for trauma evaluation, chronic joint pain, and pre-surgical planning. Orthopedic specialists commonly recommend this study for patients experiencing swelling, restricted movement, sports injuries, or suspected musculoskeletal disorders. The scan covers areas such as the spine, upper and lower limbs, pelvis, or specific joints depending on clinical needs. High-resolution imaging allows radiologists to detect subtle abnormalities that may not be visible on X-ray. This safe, quick, and non-invasive test provides essential diagnostic information, supporting accurate treatment decisions and effective management of musculoskeletal conditions.
