Also Known As:

MAU 24 hrs

The Urine Microalbumin/Creatinine Ratio (UACR) helps correct for variations in urine concentration and provides a more accurate assessment of albumin excretion rate. When performed on a 24-hour urine sample, it gives a precise estimate of total albumin loss per day. Microalbuminuria refers to the presence of small but abnormal amounts of albumin in the urine, which cannot be detected by routine dipstick tests. It serves as an early marker of kidney damage, especially in: Diabetes mellitus (type 1 and type 2); Hypertension; Glomerular and cardiovascular disorders.
