About This Test
The Fluid for Bilirubin test measures the level of bilirubin in body cavity fluids such as: Ascitic fluid (abdominal fluid), Pleural fluid (around the lungs), Peritoneal fluid, Drain fluids / postoperative fluids. Bilirubin in these fluids helps evaluate bile leakage, liver-related ascites, and gallbladder or bile duct injuries.
