C Reactive Protein High Sensitivity (hsCRP)

Also Known As: HS-CRP hs CRP CRP Cardiac Cardiac CRP

About This Test

The hs-CRP test (High Sensitivity C-Reactive Protein) is a more sensitive version of the standard CRP test. It detects very low levels of inflammation in the blood and is primarily used to assess risk of cardiovascular disease (CVD). While the standard CRP test identifies acute inflammation (e.g., infections), hs-CRP detects chronic, low-grade inflammation that may contribute to atherosclerosis (plaque buildup in arteries).
