About This Test
The Thyroid Function Test (TFT) evaluates how well your thyroid gland is working.
The thyroid, located in the neck, produces hormones that regulate metabolism, growth, and energy balance.
A complete thyroid profile generally includes multiple tests that assess thyroid hormone levels and the feedback control system between the pituitary gland and the thyroid gland.
This test includes Ultrasensitive TSH (Thyroid Stimulating Hormone) , Free T3 (Free Triiodothyronine), Free T4 (Free Thyroxine). Ultrasensitive TSH measures the concentration of TSH in the blood with high analytical sensitivity.
