About This Test
The Paediatric eGFR test estimates how well a child’s kidneys are filtering waste products from the blood.
It is calculated using the serum creatinine level, child’s height, age, and sex to give an estimate of the glomerular filtration rate (GFR) — which reflects kidney function.
Because directly measuring GFR is complex and invasive, eGFR provides a simple, accurate estimate of renal function in children. The test is used to:
1. Assess kidney function in children
2. Detect early kidney disease (before symptoms appear)
3. Monitor known kidney disorders (e.g., congenital anomalies, glomerulonephritis)
4. Adjust drug dosages that depend on kidney clearance
5. Monitor after renal transplant or nephrotoxic therapy

Yes. We use fully automated machines that ensure accurate and consistent results.
Yes, eGFR (estimated Glomerular Filtration Rate) can help detect health problems, specifically related to kidney function.
TAT Policy
The Turnaround Time (TAT) depends on the following factors:
- Registration date and time
- Type of scan or test
- Scan time or sample collection time
In uncommon circumstances, TAT may be delayed due to test complexity or reasons beyond our control. You will be informed of the estimated TAT at the time of registration.
